NNL: Osun United Resume Sunday, Set to Unveil 2020/2021 Squad
After a week break to allow players and technical crew celebrate Yuletide season with their families, Osun United will on Sunday, January 3, 2021 resume training to continue with the preparation for the upcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) scheduled to start January 16, 2021.
Team Manager, Kabiru Adekunle in statement made available to newsmen through the club’s Media Officer, Tajudeen Amodu enjoins all players to arrive the team’s camp tomorrow Sunday as full training begins on Monday morning at the Osogbo Township Stadium.
“We congratulate all our players, coaching crew, fans and supporters for the successful and peaceful celebration of Christmas and New Year. We similarly welcome everyone to the beginning of a new league season after more than a year NNL last kicked a ball due to the abrupt suspension of the league and the outbreak of Covid-19 which halted all activities including football.
“It is crystal clear that the league will begin in a few weeks hence the need to start our preparation now. All players and coaching crew are expected to resume tomorrow Sunday, January 3, while the full training will commence on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Osogbo Township Stadium. Any player that fails to resume by Monday will be considered to have voluntarily left the club.”
In the meantime, the management of Osun United will next week unveil the squad that will feature for the club in the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL),
It would be recalled that the Omoluabi Giants completed its screening last month where players that will put pen to paper with the club have been meritoriously selected by the coaching crew led by the former Super Eagles player, Bright Omokaro (MON).
“Yes, the the list (of players to play for Osun United in the upcoming NNL) is ready and shall be announced as soon as possible. We have to take the bull by the horn to make the list public next week as there is no time to waste again,” stated the Team Manager.
