2020/2021 NPFL Commencement Date May Be Postponed Again

The reports emanating from the League Management Company (LMC) indicated the proposed starting date of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season may be postponed again, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The last season league was suspended in mid-March due to outbreak of Coronavirus which halted football activities across the world.

Despite the resumption of some leagues across Africa and the world the Nigeria league did not resume, instead Points Per Game (PPG) was adopted to determine the position of teams on the log table.

The 6th of December was speculated as the commencement date of the new season and teams are already getting ready with intensified training and preseason matches.

According to the reports, LMC are still making consultations and the teams in the continent are also been considered as well as Redstrike television coverage plan need to be completed before the commencement of the 2020/2021 league season .

In this regard, the league body will make official announcement at the appropriate time.
