Drama As Kaduna United Postpone Home Match Without NNL, Opponent Consent.
By Niyi Busari
Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN Sports) gathered that Nigeria National League group A1 Matchday 2 fixture between the host, Kaduna United and Nigeria Air Force (NAF) FC has been shifted without the consent of Nigeria National League Management as well as the visitors.
The match which was earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday was shifted to Sunday through a text message sent to the away team at 7:00 pm Saturday night.
The group A1 League leader, NAF FC who was not informed was shocked when their officials went for pre-match meeting only for them not to see the FA Secretary, the host team’s officials and match officials.
Still in shock, NAF FC management called NNL Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Lawrence Katken who said the league body was neither informed the body nor aware of the postponement.
All efforts made by NAF FC officials to get information from Kaduna State FA proved abortive.
No information neither from NNL nor Kaduna United until 7:00 pm Saturday night when the state FA Secretary, Abdusalam Ahmed sent a text message to NAF FC confirming the postponement .
The text reads:
“It is now confirmed that kaduna Utd welfare officer has formally inform Mike about the day of their home matches . As such kad Utd are not willing to play today.”
