Ahead of the 2021 executive election, Africa soccer governing body (CAF) on Thursday conducted an integrity check on the contestants for the position of Presidency of the body , BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Senegalese Augustin Sengor and Ivorian Jacques Anouma were clear to take part in the election after thorough verifications.
As for the candidatures of the Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya and South African Patrice Tlhopane Motsepe they were considered admissible, but ‘the commission considered that additional verifications are necessary before a final decision’.
To this end, a hearing of these candidates will be organized in Cairo on January 28, 2021.
The candidacy of former president Ahmad Ahmad was purely rejected after he was confirmed banned by world soccer governing body (FIFA).
The election is slated for March 2021.
