Court Frustrates NFF Move To Further Split Nigerian Players Body
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Tuesday, 25 February aborted Nigeria Football Federation’s plan to further dismember National Association of Professional Footballers.
In a judgment delivered by Honourable Justice C.J Aneke, the court voided the appointment of Larry Kubeinje as Acting President of the body and also restrained him from acting and parading himself as the Vice President South-South Zone of NANF.
This is contained a judgment on suit No FHC/L/1737/2016, which has President, National Association of Professional Footballers, Harrison Jalla as Plaintiff and Larry Kubeinje as Defendant.
The Plaintiff had on 13th day of December, 2016 filed an Originating Motion praying the honourable court for the following reliefs namely, which were expressly granted:
— A declaration that the set motion dated the 4th of August 2016 purportedly appointing Larry as Acting President of National Association of Professional Footballers was in breach of the Constitution of National Association of Professional Fotballers thus invalid and void.
— A declaration that Harrison Jalla is the lawful President of the National Association of Professional Footballers.
–An order of injunction to restrain Larry Kubeinje from acting and parading himself as the Vice President South-South Zone of National Association of Professional Footballers.
In a release on February 29, Jalla decried NFF’s age-long orchestrated plans to fragment NANF, using moles in the body. He accompanied the release by many pictures of Larry Kubeinje’s endorsement by current NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, as shown above.
The release signed y Jalla and made available to yours sincerely reads: “The Abdulahi Sani Lulu led NFF Board worked assiduously to break Nigeria players’ solidarity by splitting the National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF). The NFF found a willing tool in the hands former NANF secretary who assisted the NFF to form a splinter group. That splinter group is still being held hostage as we speak as the NFF stooge.
The Aminu Maigari -led NFF Board having seen the futility in running two players associations in the country made very frantic efforts to bring the two bodies together before he left office. The Amaju Pinnick-led NFF having a hidden agenda and vaulting ambition to put Nigeria football in their pocket and also seize the Confederation of African football (CAF) through the back Door would brook no opposition.
”Amaju Pinnick, to further dismember and hijack NANF this time, used Larry Kubeinje, a mole in the house as his hatchet man. The attached Judgment dated the 25th of February 2020 speaks for itself. The attached photographs are the launching of the purported splinter group presided over by NFF President Amaju Pinnick himself.”
