By Niyi Busari
Enyimba International Football Club defensive midfielder Dare Olatunji, believes that if League Management Company, LMC, gives the nod for the restart of the 2019/2020 NPFL season, the ‘People’s Elephant’ stand a better chance to lift the trophy back to back.
With Nigeria apex league still on hold, some African and European countries have cancelled their league with few countries hoping to restart in the coming weeks, the League Management Company are still waiting for the green light from the Federal Government.
The Home Based Super Eagles midfielder joined Enyimba from Osun United, the team he represented for two seasons before lifting the league trophy with Enyimba in his first season in Nigeria Professional Football League.
Still trailing the league leader Plateau United with thirteen (13) points though with five (5) outstanding matches, Olatunji believes that the coach Fatai Osho tutored side can still dislodge the likes of Plateau United, Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Enugu Rangers to lift the trophy for the record of 9th time if the restart is allowed.
“l am very optimistic considering the form, team work and cohesion existing in the team before the pandemic situation hibernated football activities.
“We are very ready to take any chances and if the league should continue, I think we still have opportunity of lifting the trophy once again,” the energetic and talented player fondly called Osun Pogba by his fans revealed to the foremost Soccer Platform, Family United By Football FUBF.
Enyimba FC have garnered 36 points from 20 league games played so far and currently pinned at 5th position on the log.
