My ITTF Ranking Will Motivate Nigerian, African Players – Aruna Quadri

Nigeria and Africa Table tennis man of the moment Aruna Quadri has stated that his recent achievement will serve as a big motivation for Nigeria and African players, can report.

The Olympic star earlier in the week broke the African record in ranking as he climbed up to 15th position in the latest ITTF World ranking.

No African players have been to rise to 15th position, Egyptian international held the record of 16th position which he achieved in 2018.

While reacting to the feat, Aruna said that after he got to the quarter-final of the Rio 2016 Olympic another Africa went ahead to achieve a similar feat in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

“The ranking) means a lot. It’s positivity for Nigerian and for African players,” said Aruna, who became even more popular after his Rio exploits.

“It’s like if I am able to achieve it, they can be able to achieve it. For them, this ranking will be a motivation for them to push even harder.

I was in the quarter-finals of the Rio 2016, and four years later another African achieved it.”
The ITTF’s star player of 2014 intends to cement his spot among the world’s best,” he said.
