“My Role In Super Eagles Included In Rohr’s Contract” – Adelakun

“I Am Rohr’s Assistant, Not Super Eagles Assistant Coach” – Adelakun

By Niyi Busari

Super Eagles scout, Tunde Adelakun has said that he is not an assistant coach of the Nigeria’s senior national team and his role in the team is well documented in Gernot Rohr’s contract, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Adelakun in a one minute and eighteen seconds (1 minute and 18 seconds) voice note stated clearly that his role as talent identification does not interfere with match day field work.

“I am the assistant to Gernot Rohr and not the assistant coach of the Super Eagles. We have said that so many times. He appointed me as one of his assistants. I am in charge of scouting the role he gave to me as one of his assistant. But I am his full time assistant because in his contract, he gets three assistants.

He clarified that his job starts and ends off the field.

“Two (assistants) come in when we have matches and I as full-time assistant. I am just an assistant coach, I don’t do field work, I do scouting. My speciality and certification is all in talent identification and scouting and that is what i do for Rohr. I am not the assistant coach, that is not my role in the Super Eagles.

He however confirmed that Salisu Yusuf is no longer the assistant coach of the Eagles.

“We have Yobo, we used to have Imama, we used to have Salisu Yusuf, we have Alloy Agu as goalkeeper coach.” He concluded.
