Having qualified for the final of the 2021 Aiteo Cup, chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League side Nasarawa United, Barr. Isaac Danladi is still targeting a spot in the CAF champions league for next season, BSNSports.com.ng can reports.
The Lafia based team on Friday qualified for the final of 2021 Aitek cup after defeating Sunshine Stars of Akure via penalty shoot out.
Reacting after the game, Barr. Danladi was happy with the outcome but said his side will not underrate Bayelsa United in the final.
“It’s an unprecedented moment because from the blast of the whistle my throat was in my heart and honestly speaking I’m so happy.
“It’s not easy, the last time we ever qualified for final was 2016 and now 2021 we are in the final. I believe that we will lift this trophy and take it back to the good people of Nasarawa state, particularly the governor who has supported us.
“We are going to Benin to make sure that we don’t underrate them.
“I think CAF champions league is better but again you know to win a trophy is not easy, we want the trophy and still finish second in the league,” he said.
