The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) says it has concluded plans to organize a two-day development coaching education programme’ for its coaches in the country.

According to a statement signed by Taiwo Oriss, the NCF Secretary General on Thursday in Abuja, the country’s High-Performance manager, Asanka Gurusinha will be the facilitator of the programme.

“All the national team coaches, and coaches across the regions as well as the development officers of the NCF are expected to be part of the programme.

“Due to COVID-19 observance, only a few number will be allowed to be physically present for the course while the rest from across the six regions of the nation will join virtually,’’Oriss said.

The clinic will run simultaneously as the National Under-17 Boys cricket finals, ongoing at Edo Boys High School Adolor , Benin.

Oriss added that the aim of the programme is to streamline and synchronise the coaching templates across the country.

The session is expected to begin on Friday with the theoretical work and end with the practical aspect on Saturday.

Gurusinha, the event’s facilitator is also the head coach of the country’s senior male national team.

Meanwhile, the Under-17 Boys finals began on Thursday with all geo-political zones in the country participating except the North East.

This is however due to the insecurity in the region, according to Oriss.

Team North-West are the defending champions of the competition which is expected to end on Sunday.
