NNL: Crown FC, Warri Wolves Lock Horns In Make-or-Mar Matchday 2
Warri Wolves will hope to build on their perfect start in the Nigeria National League, NNL, when they face Crown FC at the Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomosho on Sunday, April 21.
The tie is a Match-Day 2 of the 2018/2019 NNL campaign.
The two teams are no strangers to one another in Nigeria domestic football, as they have met on separate occasions before now.
Their most recent meeting was at the turn of this year, when Warri Wolves lost narrowly by a lone goal to Crown FC during the pre-season tour of Oyo State by the former.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s match, Warri Wolves’ head coach, Taju Lamidi, said his team is aware of the threat Crown FC pose at home, adding that the experience of their recent meeting with the Ajilete Warriors is still fresh in their mind.
Coach Lamidi noted that the Seasiders would dare to believe to thwart any approach the home side will employ for the game.
“We know that they are a threat at home, ” said Coach Taju Lamidi. “We still remember how they played against us in January.”
“We have the belief to take the game. And we want to stop them from getting a result against us with any approach they decide to use.”
While saying that they are ready for the fixture mentally, Coach Lamidi stated that his team is determined and confident of securing a vital result from the game.
Warri Wolves started the campaign with 2 – 1 home victory over Ibom Youths at the Warri City Stadium on Matchday 1 of the league and they are currently placed second on the NNL Group B4 table.
During that round of matches, Crown FC were drawn bye.
The Sunday’s match will kick off at 4pm.
