By Sampson Adedeji
Manager of the Nigeria Professional Football League Club Rivers United Stanley Eguma has explained how they were able to secure maximum point against Enyimba international on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Pride of Rivers played host to the People’s Elephant in one of the rescheduled league game at the Adoke Amaisimaka stadium in Port-Harcourt on Sunday and it was Sunday Adetunji that scored the only goal of the game 5 minute from time.
Eguma commended his players and said they were able to knock down Enyimba in the second half after they noticed the weakness in their team.
“It was a very tough game, Enyimba is not a pushover anyday, I respect them because they gave us a very good game.”
“From the beginning we tried if we could get any goal but we couldn’t but in the second half we put ourselves together having noticed their weak areas, we kept the ball on ground and played well which resulted to the goal.”
The win is very important because we have added 3 points to our first round points, I think we will make some step on the log, is good thing for us and a motivation for the players”, he said.
