NVBF Invites 8, As Kenya, Zambia, 2 Others Storm Nigeria For Olympics Qualifier

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation has invited eight (8) female beach volleyball players to camp in Kaduna in preparation for the forthcoming phase two women 2020 Tokyo beach volleyball qualifiers holding in Abuja as from 4th to 8th March, 2020.
The invited players are: Tochukwu Nnoruga (Nigeria Customs Service) Isabella Laju (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp) Francisca Ikhiede (Nigeria Customs Service) Amarachi Kelechukwu (Nigeria Customs Service) Chioma Okeke – Rivers, Blessing Daniel – Kogi, Doom Tyokaa – Sword Benue, Oyinye Onunkwo – Rivers
The invited players and officials are to report at the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna on Wednesday 26th of February, 2020.
According to the Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB), the participating countries, Zambia, Cape Verde, Kenya and Congo DR will arrive in Nigeria on the 4th of March for the qualifiers holding at Jabi lake Beach in Abuja.
It would be remembered that Team Nigeria qualified to the second phase placing first ahead of Ghana in the first phase played in Ghana in January.
The president of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Eng Musa Nimrod expressed optimism on the qualification of the female team stressing that the performances of the invited players at the just concluded president beach volleyball championship in Kaduna gave him the confidence that the players will surely win the ticket to the last phase.
The head coach, Francis Imoudu assured Nigerians that the female teams will not disappoint judging by their present ranking as number three in Africa.
