‘I’ve Done My Best’, Amaju Pinnick To Step Down As Nigeria Football Federation President

The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has made it clear that he won’t be running for a third term in office due to family pressure, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Recall that Pinnick has come under heavy criticism after resigning as NFF President after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In an interview with ARISE TV on Friday, the former Delta State Sports administrator stated that his time in the Glass House has taken a toll on his relationship with his family…

“I’m eligible to run for a third term according to the NFF status. Do I want to run? It’s a no-no, my family is very key to me, they said it’s taking a toll on me and the family. They believed that I’ve done my best and it’s time to move on.”

Pinnick has been the President of the Nigeria Football Federation since 2014.

He was first elected in 2014 again and won re-election in 2018, making him one of the longest-serving NFF presidents in recent years.

There had been reports that he was keen on a third term, especially after working his way into the FIFA Council, the highest decision-making organ of the global football body.
