€70M Not Enough: Napoli Block Osimhen Move to Galatasaray
By Admin
Napoli have reportedly turned down a €70 million bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to Romano, Galatasaray submitted a formal offer on Friday, including bank documents to guarantee the payment. Despite the effort, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis swiftly rejected the proposal, holding firm on his €75 million valuation of the player.
“Understand Napoli have now rejected four new formal proposals sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen,” Romano posted via his official X account. “Galatasaray offered €70m today with bank documents attached for payment guarantees… Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed and he has rejected.”
The rejection marks the fourth attempt by Galatasaray to land the highly-rated forward, who played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A title-winning campaign during the 2022/23 season.
Osimhen remains one of the most coveted strikers in Europe, attracting interest from several top clubs due to his physical presence, lethal finishing, and consistent performances. Despite injury setbacks in the 2023/24 season, the 25-year-old continues to command significant attention in the transfer market.
As the summer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Galatasaray—or any other suitor—will return with an improved offer that meets Napoli’s valuation.
