AFCON 2025: CAF Appoints Ghana Official For Nigeria–Morocco Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea to officiate the second semi-final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations between Nigeria and hosts Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The high-stakes encounter will be played on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat, with a place in the final at stake for both sides.

Laryea will be supported by South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela as assistant referee one, while Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane will serve as assistant referee two. Rwanda’s Samuel Uwikunda has been named the fourth official for the fixture.

CAF’s appointment of Laryea underscores the importance of the tie, as the Ghanaian is regarded as one of Africa’s experienced match officials.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Atlas Lions of Morocco are expected to contest a fiercely competitive semi-final as the tournament approaches its climax in Morocco.
