AFCON 2025: Sevilla Fueled My Growth -Akor Adams

Ibrahim Lateef

Akor Adams has given credit to his Spanish LaLiga club Sevilla for fueling his growth, as he established himself as a crucial player for the Super Eagles at the ongoing AFCON in Morocco, and he's poised to make a significant impact in the quarterfinal against Algeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Meanwhile, Sevilla undoubtedly hopes for the Nigerian team's swift exit, given Adams' current form and Isaac's inconsistency after delivering a strong performance against Oviedo.

In a recent interview with ON Sport, an Egyptian channel, Adams expressed his unwavering commitment to Sevilla, labeling it "the club of his heart."

He openly addressed the ongoing challenges facing the Nervión team, acknowledging that stability has eluded them thus far. "This season has had its ups and downs, but our goal is to finish strongly, both collectively and individually," Adams stated, outlining the aspirations held within the Nervión dressing room.

He recognized the difficulty of achieving success following their cup elimination, pivoting the focus towards improving their league position.

"It's not merely about title contention; it's about ascending the standings and showcasing our true potential as a team," he asserted. Adams emphasized the honor of playing for Sevilla, viewing it as a pivotal step in his career.

Thriving in Nervión, he said, "Sevilla comes with great responsibility. Wearing the jersey of a club rich in history—representative of Spain and Europe—demands your utmost effort every day. The experience has been transformative, fueling my growth in every facet of my game."
