Gambia Match Postponed As Earthquake Rocks Morocco
By Sampson Adedeji
The update coming from Morocco is not palatable as many 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers scheduled to take place in the country have been postponed due to an earthquake that rocked the country in the early hours of Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
A magnitude 7 earthquake struck the country, causing more than 800 deaths and hundreds sustaining injuries.
The Scorpion of Gambia are slated to face Congo in Morocco on Sunday and the location of their camp is very close to where the tragedy struck.
Their camp was rocked but no causality was recorded as the country's FA has come out to confirm the safety of everyone.
The Royal Federation of Moroccan Football Federation has secured approval from CAF to have their Saturday qualifier against Liberia postponed.
