"I Can Help Super Eagles Achieve Long Term Dream" - US U19 Head Coach

Head coach of the US Under 17 and U19 men's teams, Micheal Nsien has said that he is capable of achieving long term dream for Super Eagles of Nigeria if appointed as Head Coach, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian experience coach made this known in an interactive interview session on a foremost Nigeria Sports WhatsApp group (NSM) on Saturday.

He said, "I am in a good place right now. This follows my promotion from U16 to U19 Head Coach in less than a year and I was just an assistant with the first team. And with what we did at the Gold Cup (Japan), I can still get more opportunities with the US senior team. I am really happy with my own process and growth as a coach.

"If Nigeria job ever come open, Nigerians know that I am a worthy coach from my experience and should be the one to reach out to me. I don't think currently that I will put my name in any application process without reaching out to me first based on my achievements (and fact that I am presently engaged).

I stand a chance of becoming a coach if they reach out to me. With my level and experience as a coach, I think I can help the Super Eagles to achieve.

"If Nigeria are high profile football playing country, they should understand the coach they want and then set and streamline the process.

"You can't open the door to a thousand coaches and start asking them questions. My hope would be that enough people in the world of football including Nigeria know my worth and if they see me as worthy they will call me. With my profile in US, I think I am a suitable candidate for high profile job."

He hailed the performance of Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

"The world cup threw more bright light on Nigerian female players with the way played during the world and how they worked together. I think that speaks well of the coach and the players on their ability despite the adversity. We in the USA, we know there are talented players in Nigeria. They showed their mental strength at the difficult moment, I think a lot of credibility should go to the players and that was remarkable."
