As transfer speculation continues to surround Nigeria's Super Eagles and Rangers FC defender, Calvin Bassey, the player has come to highlight what he wants to achieve in his career, BSNsports.com.ng reports.


Bassey who made his Super Eagles debut in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs rounds against the Black Stars of Ghana was the star performer for Rangers in the just-concluded season.


He was key for the club playing in two cup finals: UEFA Europa League and Scottish Cup and his performance has made him a target for big teams across Europe.


He said, his dream is to win major titles and play against the best in the game.


"My dream, obviously, is to win trophies. I want to be part of a winning team and test myself against some of the best players in the world domestically and at the international level," he told Unique Sports group. 


Bassey who was part of the Super Eagles team that played the international friendly against Mexico and Ecuador is expected to be in action when Nigeria face Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principle in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has accepted the defeat of his team to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi, BSNsports.com.ng reports.


The league leader on Sunday suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Wikki Tourist, a loss that reduced their points to 7 ahead of their closest challenger Plateau United.


During a post-match reaction, Eguma commended the Wikki Tourist team and further said they will go back and correct their mistake.


" It was a good game though we lost, I think we took it in good faith.


"We have lost and we have to go back and work on it. It's one of those things, you win or lose, we will go back and correct our mistakes.


"I commend the Wikki team for the victory, like always say the league is not yet over because we must play all the games and it is at the end that will know how many points we have, the race is still on," he stated.
