"I Was A Threat To Eto’o, We Will See The Consequences" – Brys Breaks Silence

Former Indomitable Lions head coach Marc Brys has spoken publicly for the first time since his dramatic dismissal, offering a detailed account of his strained relationship with FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Brys was relieved of his duties on Monday, shortly after Eto’o secured re-election as president of the Cameroonian Football Federation. The Belgian technician, who had been appointed through the Ministry of Sports, insists the tension with Eto’o had been present from day one.

In a candid interview, Brys revealed the depth of the conflict:

 “I have other ambitions than being constantly on edge. It’s too aggressive, too deceptive. I’ve had enough. Too much negativity to be able to work properly.”

He claimed Eto’o never wanted him in the role:

 “Eto’o always tried to get rid of me as quickly as possible. From the very first minute, he insulted me, and I reacted. I was too big a threat to him. It taught me a lesson. I recommend it to everyone, but it shouldn’t last too long.”

Brys added that taking up the Cameroon job was a major challenge, but one that came with unexpected hostility:

 “Either you’re afraid and don’t want to engage in this fight, or you see it as an enriching experience. Becoming the Cameroon national team coach was a challenge for me. We’ll see what the consequences are.”

Despite FECAFOOT announcing his dismissal, the Belgian coach insists his contract remains valid:

 “My contract runs until September. It’s a contract with the minister, and he hasn’t fired me.”

He concluded by criticizing the environment he worked in:

 “But all this secrecy, this pressure, and this sabotage... that’s certainly not the intention.”

The saga between Brys, FECAFOOT, and the Ministry of Sports continues to generate debate in Cameroon, with further developments expected in the coming days.
