"My Suspension Is Illegal" – Federation President Fires Back
Sampson Adedeji
Suspended Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has strongly rejected his removal from office, describing the process as unconstitutional and without legal backing, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Mohammed was recently suspended by the federation’s National Executive Committee (NEC) over allegations of financial misappropriation, but the embattled president has now broken his silence, insisting that due process was not followed.
Reacting to the decision, Mohammed questioned the legitimacy of the meeting that led to his suspension.
“The purported meeting was not convened in accordance with the FKF Constitution, it is therefore irregular and unconstitutional. Any decision from the said meeting is therefore null and void,” he stated.
The latest development has further intensified the crisis within Football Kenya Federation, with both sides holding firm to their positions amid growing uncertainty over the federation’s leadership.
Sources close to the situation indicate that the dispute could escalate into a prolonged legal and administrative battle, potentially affecting the smooth running of football activities in the country.
With tensions rising, stakeholders in Kenyan football are now watching closely to see how the situation unfolds and whether intervention will be required to restore stability at the top level of the game.
