"No Excuse Not Winning AFCON Trophy - Ideye To Super Eagles Players

Former Nigeria's Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has told the present players in the national team that no excuse will be tenable this time around, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Eagles players wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast on Monday.

The defeat to the Syli Stars of Guinea led to many questioning their readiness for the competition.

And Ideye via his social media handle told the players that the team has what it takes to win the tournament and no excuse will be entertained.

“No excuses this time because this squad has what it takes to win it,” Ideye said.

Ideye was a regular member of Nigeria’s squad that won the tournament in South Africa 2013 and he scored the Eagles second goal in their 4-1 semi-final win over Mali.
