Paul Ogunlaja, Head Scout of the Nationwide League One (NLO) South West region, emphasised the importance of the LaLiga Next Gen Draft - FC Futures, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The event, held in Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena over three days, featured 24 U15 teams, including male and female squads.

In a brief interview with the media, Ogunlaja stated, "FC Futures is unique because it focuses on selecting players at the right ages and fitting them into the right positions."

He expressed his excitement that LaLiga EA Sports scouts, in collaboration with Legacy Sports, provided a platform for emerging football talents.

The Sporting Director of Ojodu City Football Club added that: "The eight outstanding players—four male and four female selected, met the criteria for the LaLiga Next Gen Draft.

"These players will travel to Spain to showcase their skills, develop further, and experience new cultures alongside talents from Mexico, Japan, Morocco, and China, culminating in a final phase."

Ogunlaja, a top scout known for discovering talents like Hafz Ibrahim Umar (Stade de Reims, France), Oriyomi Lebi Ahmed (FK IMT, Serbia), Salim Fago Lawal (Czech Republic), and many more, believes the final eight will ultimately become formidable players in the future.
