Ola Aina Opts Out Of Rwanda Clash, Returns To England
Ibrahim Lateef
Ola Aina has opted out of the Super Eagles' final AFCON 2025 qualifying game against Rwanda on Monday, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
The defender, who didn't travel back to Nigeria on Friday with the team to start preparation for the game against Rwanda, returned to England from Abidjan, the Cote d'Ivoire capital.
Ola Aina was excused due to personal reasons, as he was not injured in the one-all draw against the Cheetahs of Benin.
The Nottingham Forest defender won’t be part of the team to face Rwanda on Monday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, for the dead rubber game.
Recall, the 3-time AFCON champions had qualified for the continent's biggest biannual football fiesta in Morocco before the game against Benin, after Libya shocked Rwanda in Kigali.
