Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze is once again at the centre of debate among Nigerian football fans after delivering a Man-of-the-Match performance in Fulham’s 2–1 Premier League victory over Tottenham on Saturday night, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

While his club form continues to flourish, many supporters on X (formerly Twitter) insist they want the same level of consistency for Nigeria ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Chukwueze played a pivotal role in Fulham’s win at London Stadium, providing the assist for Kenny Tete’s opener with a well-weighted pass and later contributing to the buildup that led to Harry Wilson’s winning goal. Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus pulled one back with a powerful strike, but Chukwueze remained one of Fulham’s most influential players throughout the match.

However, his impressive club outing did little to shield him from criticism back home. Many fans questioned why the winger has struggled to replicate similar form in Super Eagles colours. Some supporters urged a more measured response, reminding others of the challenges of switching between club and international football. “Calm down, it’s just the excitement of a new club.
