"They Doubted Him But Here We Are" – Galatasaray Vice President Speaks On Osimhen

The vice president of Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray, Abdullah Kavukcu, has opened up on the doubts that trailed the signing of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, insisting the striker has silenced his critics with outstanding performances, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Kavukcu revealed that many questioned the club’s decision to invest heavily in the Super Eagles star when he arrived last summer on a permanent deal.

“When we bought him, a lot of people said it was a crazy investment,” Kavukcu said.

However, the Galatasaray chief maintained that Osimhen has justified every penny spent on him, adding that his market value has since skyrocketed due to his impressive displays.

“Victor has proved everyone wrong because his value has doubled,” he added.

Osimhen once again demonstrated his importance on Wednesday night when he played a decisive role in helping Galatasaray overcome Italian giants Juventus in the UEFA Champions League, underlining his status as one of the most lethal strikers in Europe.

“We know he’s one of the best strikers in the world, and we’re excited to do big things together,” Kavukcu concluded.

Since sealing his move to the Istanbul-based side, Osimhen has quickly become a fan favourite, delivering crucial goals in both domestic and European competitions as Galatasaray continue their pursuit of silverware this season.
