"We Didn’t Owe Late Stephen Keshi" – Pinnick Insists
Sampson Adedeji
Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has insisted that neither he nor his board owed the late Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, any outstanding entitlements during his time in charge, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Pinnick made this clarification while speaking during a chat with former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, on his YouTube channel, where issues surrounding Keshi’s tenure were discussed.
According to the former NFF boss, all of Keshi’s financial entitlements were fully settled, contrary to claims that the coach was owed by the federation.
“We didn’t owe Keshi a dime, we paid every one of his entitlements,” Pinnick stated.
He also stressed that he enjoyed a cordial relationship with the late coach, describing their bond as respectful and personal.
“I had a good relationship with him (Keshi), and when he passed on, I was the first person to get there,” he added.
Stephen Keshi, who led Nigeria to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title, passed away in 2016 at the age of 54.
