"We Have Worked Hard For This" - Eguma Speaks On Doma Utd Tie

By Gbenga Gboyega

The head coach of Rivers United - Stanley Eguma during his press conference for the game against Doma United on Thursday, stated that his team had worked hard for the moment, as the League's defending champions are poised to play their final outstanding game.

Rivers had featured on the continent at the Confederation Cup where they failed to progress from the quarterfinals, which resulted in outstanding games in the NPFL. But a draw and a win against Wikki Tourists and Sunshine Stars respectively bring Stanley Eguma and his team closer to the day of reckoning.

"It's another tough game, they (Doma United) are also a Super 6 contender and I believe they are coming with a lot of problems but we have worked hard to prepare for this game." Eguma was quoted saying by Rivers United's media team.

Rivers' final Matchday encounter will come against familiar foes - Enugu Rangers, who have nothing to play for following a torrid campaign that has seen the Southeast team wallow in Group B's 8th position.

Rivers United returned to the summit of the log with two games to spare against Doma tonight, and Enugu in three days, as Eguma sets sight on the ₦100 million winner's prize for the eventual NPFL 2023 champions.
