Ahead of the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mohammed Sanusi has stated that the federation is not ready to take chances in the competition, BSNsports.com.ng understand
Nigeria is among the 12 countries that have booked their places in the tournament having defeated Ghana and Ivory Coast in the qualifier.
In readiness for the competition, the team is to play the Canadian women's team in an international slated for Vancouver and Langford.
“There are no longer minnows or minions in African women's football. The championship in Morocco will serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and we cannot afford to take chances.
"Only the four semi-finalists in Morocco will qualify for the Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand next year. Our girls must get the best of preparation possible," he said.
