"Why I Rejected Over N80m From Player Agent" - Flying Eagles Coach
Ladan Bosso, the Head Coach of Nigeria’s national under-20 male football team, the Flying Eagles, has made a stunning revelation on why he rejected N88m bribe from agent.
He said he has rejected a whooping sum of one hundred thousand (100,000) Euros (about eighty-eight million Naira) in bribe from some European football agents to influence his team selection ahead of their 2023 CAF U-20 African Nations Cup in Egypt.
In an exclusive interview with www.InsideNews247.com, Bosso said football agents both at home and abroad have been approaching him since the team’s camping began, offering him a lot of gratification to look at their players.
He however said that he has been able to wade them off.
“Since we opened camp, a lot of football agents have been making overtures to me.
“In fact, just recently, some European football agents approached me and offered me 100,000 Euros (about 88 million Naira) that they’ll be sole rights owners of all the players in the Nigerian U-20 team should they get any offer from clubs during the championship in Egypt.
“Of course, I turned down the offer, because my team selection is based on merit.
“Our preparation is a continuous process of substitution by elimination
†I want to be held responsible, should the team fails, which I am not praying for to happen â€
“I don’t delegate my duties to my assistant coaches. I am always involved in the team’s build-up and preparations to the championship â€
The Africa U-20 Cup of Nations is slated for February 18 to March 12, 2023 in Egypt.
The final four teams will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled to hold in Indonesia from May 20 to June 11 next year.
