Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu for emerging as the winner of the just-concluded All Progressive Congress APC Presidential (APC) Presidential Primary, which consequently made him the party Presidential flagbearer in 2023 elections.


In a letter dated Wednesday, June 8, Dare expressed warm compliment to the ex-Lagos State governor, over his overwhelming victory at the Party primary polls stating that the victory is a call to higher service.


The letter reads, "I am elated and deeply proud to celebrate with you on your emphatic victory at the just concluded Presidential Primary Election of our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC)


"Asiwaju, I congratulate you on your victory as the Presidential candidate of our ruling party. This is no doubt a validation of your political astuteness and stewardship for over a decade. You have been called to a higher service at the time Nigeria needs more experienced hands to help silver our prevailing challenges.


Dare added, "You carry a ray of hope for Nigeria and I urge you to bear the torch of leadership with foresight, humility, determination, consideration for others and with a fierce conviction that you will be a leader for all and of all. Once again, accept my hearty congratulations and lets us roll Up for the task ahead."


Over 2,000 delegates had voted at the APC special convention, held on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Eagle Square, Abuja, where Tinubu polled 1,271 votes to defeat 13 other aspirants, including a former Transport Minister, Rotimi Ameachi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who scored 316 and 235 votes respectively.
