"Announcement of 2nd Term Ambition, A Distraction From Fight Against Covid-19" - CAF President

The President, Confederation of African Football, CAF, Ahmad Ahmad says he will not be distracted from the fight against the coronavirus pandemic by the media announcing his application for a second term in office, BSNSports.com.ng understands.
Ahmad Ahmad from Madagascar defeated the then incumbent CAF president, Issa Hayatou on March 16th, 2017 to become the first CAF President from Madagascar. Issa Hayatou was in office for 29 years before the emergence of Ahmad Ahmad.
Barely one year to the next election, the CAF President, Ahmad said he will make his intention known when the time comes as he is fully concentrating on how to defeat covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Egypt’s Amr Fahmy announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Confederation of African Football (Caf), with elections to be held in 2021.
Fahmy, who served as the body’s general secretary between November 2017 and April 2019 declared his intention to go to the poll to test his might against the incumbent, Ahmad Ahmad when the election commences in March, 2021.
While, Ahmad is still taking his time before declaring his intention on whether he is running for the second term or not, Fahmy on the other hand, has revealed where he will begin his campaign and explained why he is running.
