"I Will Do My Last Spinal Cord Surgery in November" - Ikhana

Former Nigeria U23 Olympic national team coach, Kadiri Ikhana is recovering very fast from the spinal cord injury that kept him on a spot, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Ikhana while speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng said he has recovered from the injury and can walk and drive himself around adding that the doctor told him that he will soon be fully fit.

"I'm much more better now and if you see me you will be surprised yourself and it's a matter of time, I've been told by my doctor that getting very fit will take a little time, it has to be gradual." Ikhana told BSN Sports

The former Enyimba, Kano Pillars and Sunshine Stars coach stated that he visited the Alliance Hospital in March for another surgery and will still be in Abuja in November for the last spinal cord surgery

"As a matter of fact, I went to Abuja on the 22nd of March and the two surgeries are healing very fast, I will wait for 6 months before going for my last surgery which is on spinal cord.

"Now, I'm very okay, I walk around, i drive my car without stick or stress and I'm better, thank God." He concluded.

Ikhana managed Nigeria's Enyimba, winning the African Champions League in 2003. He was awarded CAF's Coach of the Year that same year. In 2004, he was manager of the Nigerian men's Olympic team.

He later managed Kano Pillars , before resigning in May 2008, citing corruption in the sport. He had led Kano Pillars to their first ever league title a day earlier.

He was appointed manager of the Nigerian women's national team in April 2012, before resigning in November 2012.
