Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has said that the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr will be shown the exit door if he fails to meet up with the set standard, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Dare who admitted that the Franco-German coach is a world class stated that he was allowed to continue as Eagles following his acceptance of the conditions in the new contract.

"For him to have come in the first place, he must have been world standard although when it comes to world standard coach there are levels. With the conditions we have put in the contract, I think it is only fair if he has accepted to let him continue but then we are going to hold him to a higher standard of responsibility to a greater depth of technicality in our football and to a greater level of success." Sunday Dare said in a three-minute voice note sent to BSN Sports.

Sunday Dare threatened that Rohr will be sacked if he fails to win the next African Cup of Nations and also qualify Nigeria for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

"If he does not meet our set standard, we can terminate his contract. So, we are not really stock with him, he has the opportunity to prove himself.

"Even if we have the best coach in the world, we will set the same standard for the coach, we will build in point which if those expectations, the expected outcomes are not met, that best coach in the world will also be shown the way out.

He confirmed that Gernot Rohr has promised to achieve the the two conditions to see out his contract.

"I think we just allow this play out, he has also made promises that things will get better and we think that we will wait and see what happens.

The Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday announced Gernot Rohr will continue as Super Eagles till 2022.
