By Emediong Silver
Former Super Eagles utility player, Garba Lawal has said that the Super Eagles players lacked the zeal and passion which were the fuel that drove the players of the team to title victories in the 80s and 90s, BSNSportscom.ng
The former Super Eagles of Nigeria forward in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports in Abuja, insisted that their lack of character in the field was obvious in the results of their last two friendly matches.
In his words: "During my time, we played as a team. You know we have players who you can call anytime and will deliver. So you can see zeal in them, they fight like lions but I don't see these in the current players."I don't know why this generation is different. When I watched them play, I don't see that passion in them," he said.
On the new additions Gernot Rohr made to the team, he said: "Rohr can call up anybody he wants to call. We can't question him. That's what he is being paid for. The old players will give way sooner or later.
"When you have plan 'B' in football, it's always good. He is the manager and the only one that can assess them for the team," he said.
The next international break will come up on November 11th.
