"I think now it is the time to check the Nigeria Football Federation. They are over doing things. I think we have over pampered them and now it is the time to let them know that they're not doing the right thing. He urged the media to play a vital role in making that the game of football that unites Nigerians returns back to the good old days. "And we should tell them and in particular, the media should play that role for Nigeria. Because if we all keep quiet and pretend as if everything is well with Nigeria football believe me sincerely, were not doing Nigerian football a favor." Felix Owolabi helped Nigeria to win the 1980 African Nations Cup title and also played a major role in 1992 when Shooting Stars of Ibadan won the first edition of CAF Cup now renamed CAF Confederation Cup.
