Parents Decision To Release Athletes For National Youth Games, A Point of Patriotism - Sunday Dare

As thousands of youth all over the state of the federation gathered in Ilorin for this year, National Youth Games, Minister of Youth and Sports, Development, Hon Sunday Dare has thanked the parents of the participants.

The Games which is designed to discover new talents for Nigeria are meant for school athletes who are 15 years or below, BSN reports.

The minister on Tuesday sent his thanks you message to parents on Wednesday morning after meeting with kids on Tuesday on his arrival to the venue.

"A big thank you to the parents of thousands of our young children gathered in iliorin to participate in the 5th National Youth Games.

"Their decision to release their kids from 36 states is a point for patriotism and a good omen to the rebirth of grassroots sports development," he said.

The events which will run till September 17th officially take off on Tuesday with athletes competing against one another in 34 sports.
