"Take Good Care of Age-grade National Teams" - FCT FA Chairman Advises NFF

Chairman, Federal Capital Territory Football Association, FCT FA, Alhaji Mouktar Mohammed has advised the Nigeria Football Federation to take good care of the age-grade national teams, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Mouktar, made this known on Tuesday while reacting to questions during a virtual interview session on FCT Football Update adding that the youth national teams are the foundation for the senior national teams like the Super Eagles and Super Falcons. He also advised the federation to be transparent in appointment of national team coaches by giving the jobs to the best hands in the country.

In his words, "I am not concerned that the national teams do not have the technical crews, all I am more concerned is that the selection process should be very transparent and allow the best qualified coaches get the jobs. So that the foundation of the Super Eagles must grow from there."

"The youth teams, we must set out target for them and we must take care of them properly because they're the future of tomorrow that will come into the Super Eagles. So, I am not worried because we have a lot of good coaches in Nigeria that are qualified to handle the national team jobs but I want the process to be opened and everyone be carried along." He said.

Recall that the Nigeria Football Federation in a press release announced cancellation of match bonus and allowances for all age-grade national teams. The decision, many Nigerians see as a setback for the development of the game.

The Nigeria age-grade national teams include; Golden Eaglets (U17 boys), Flamingos (U17 girls), Flying Eagles (U20 boys) and Falconets (U20 girls).

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are the only national team with a head coach while the NFF is yet to announce coaches for other national teams.
