We fail to take our chances - Amapakabo

The coach of the Super Eagles B Imama Amapakabo has stated that his players failed to take the chances that come their way in the encounter.

BSN reports that the Nigeria side failed to qualify for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) when they could not turned the table against Sparrow Hawks of Togo in the second leg of the qualifier played at the Agege stadium in Lagos on Saturday having lost the first leg 1-4 in Lome, Togo.

Despite the 2-0 win at the Agege Stadium on Saturday, Nigeria still failed to qualify for the competition finals in Cameroon.

Amapakabo praised the players for playing to instructions but believed the scoreline would have been better if they have converted their chances.

"The players played according to instruction and what we had practiced in the last week and I’m glad we were able to keep the Togolese where we wanted them, unfortunately we had the chances but were unable to convert them to give us qualification,” Amapakabo told reporters.

The crashing out to Togo made it the third time Super Eagles B will be absent from the competition since its inception.
