Ghana's Head Coach Wants To Emulate Nigeria
By Sampson Adedeji
The head coach of Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Akonnor has said they are seriously planning to emulate Nigeria's Super Eagles in the way they've been able to integrate the country's players born abroad into the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ghanaian senior men's team continued to fall short of expectation in any major competitions which warranted so many unanswered questions within football stakeholders in the country.
According to Akonnor efforts is already on to convince the Ghana's players abroad switch allegiance to the West African country.
" That is what we want to do. Look at Nigeria, I think they have done that in a very nice way.
“They have brought a lot of guys who were born in Europe and the Nigerian team is now transformed so we are trying to do the same with the national team.” he told Starr FM Radio.
Leon Balogun, William Troost Ekong, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina etc are few players who decided to dorn Nigeria green white green.
