100 Benefit From RSBF All Girls Basketball Clinic In Ibadan

Not fewer than 100 girls benefited from the Rashidat Sadiq Basketball Foundation (RSBF) in a three-day basketball Clinic, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Held at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, the former D'Tigress star will use the foundation to help discovered exceptional talents the opportunity to get scholarship to help build their careers and education in the United States of America.

"It's to encourage and develop the girl child that are into basketball and also promote the game in the region as well as teaches them about life skills , entrepreneur, life lessons also the importance of education as they do sport. Scholaship will be award to the best camper to travel to the USA to attend school and play basketball." The Olympian told BSN Sports.

She continued, "Using my Rashidat Sadiq Basketball Foundation (RSBF) NGO to run the program as it's all charity giving back to the society.

Speaking on the choice of Ibadan and what encouraged to go Talent hunts.

She said, "I Rashidat SADIQ was given the opportunity just like am doing now , I play and grew up here in Ibadan before I got the opportunity to travel to the USA to study and play basketball and that pave the way for me to have break many record in the USA and also went on to play in Europe. I had the opportunity to Captain the Nigeria female national team, D' Tigress, at many times and even during the 2004 Olympic games. So, I had to come back home to give back to the younger generation and we've been doing so since 2011.

Born on 3 January, 1981, Rashidat Odun Sadiq played in the United States with the University of Connecticut Huskies and Oklahoma State Cowgirls. She also played with the Nigeria women's national basketball team at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
