19th NSF: Dalung Leads Delegation of 'Torch of Unity' to Lafia

19TH NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL 'TORCH OF UNITY' ARRIVES LAFIA. By Eche Amos The 19th National Sports Festival TORCH OF UNITY which is the symbol of peace and unity for the NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL will arrive Lafia, Nasarawa State Capital, Thursday, 4th October, 2018, having being flagged off by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, 1st October, 2018, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. With Lafia the starting point to other States' Capitals of the Federation, the TORCH OF UNITY will be received by His Excellency, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, at the City Gate, Jos Road, Lafia, with a brief reception ceremony at the Lafia City Stadium, in accordance with the TORCH's movement schedules across the country. The Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Selcap Dalung, shall lead a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Abuja, and National Sports Festival Marketing & Management Company Limited (the Special Purpose Vehicle) to present the TORCH to His Excellency by 9.00am. The movement of the TORCH OF UNITY across the 36 States' Capitals of the Country is to herald the Festival and transmit the message of peace and brotherhood amongst the people of Nigeria. The 19th National Sports Festival is billed to start on November 6th to December 6th 2018 in Abuja.
