19th NSF: Rivers, Kano, Osun, 7 Others Missing At The Opening Ceremony By Niyi Busari President Muhammadu Buhari's state, Katsina, Kebbi, Kano, Ebonyi, Imo, Osun, Kogi and Rivers states were no where to be seen during the opening ceremony of 2018 National Sports Festival at the National stadium, Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Apart from Ebonyi state that has announced its absence the other nine states have not made any public statement that they will not be part of the national sports event. BSN Sports scooped that there were protest in Ekiti and Rivers on Wednesday over payment of their allowances. The 19th national sports festival opening ceremony kicked off 6:00 pm on Thursday with 26 states in attendance. It was announced by the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Barr Solomon Dalung that over 8,000 athletes will compete in 37 sports.
