1st Anniversary: Osun United Management Appreciates The State Government, Osun People

The management of Osun United, led by the former Super Eagles Midfielder, Chief Ademola Adesina has lauded the State Government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the opportunity given the board to paddle the canoe of Osun United as it marks first anniversary with low key online prayers.

Recall that the board, constituted and approved by the State Government of Osun was officially inaugurated on May 8, 2019 by Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the excos Chamber, Governor's Office, Abere

The management, in a statement signed by the Vice President, Mr. Layi Adesiyan and made available to newsmen by the Media Officer, Tajudeen Amodu also appreciated all cabinet members, the Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Yemi Lawal, the House of Assembly, Osun Sports Council and FA, Fans and Supporters and more importantly, the Immediate Past Commissioner for Sports, Social Protection and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade for their maximum support which has been making things easy for the management and the team.

The statement reads:

"We appreciate the State Government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who approved the constitution of the board and was physically present together with the entire cabinet members on May 8, 2019 during the inauguration. We lauded efforts of the Immediate Past Commissioner for Sports, Social Protection and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade and the immediate past Cabinet as well as the House Committee on Sports then, led by Honourable Tajudeen Famuyide."

"Since the inauguration of the board, the government has been very supportive, beginning with the return of Osun United to the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the regular payment of salaries of the entire team. We say a big thank you."

"Since he came on board last year as the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hon. Yemi Lawal has been very instrumental to the accomplishment of our plans and programs. We appreciate his support greatly, together with those of the staff of the ministry."

"Worthy of appreciation is the Director General, Ilerioluwa Campaign Organization, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, the Commissioner for Finance, The Accountant General and all their staff. Also, efforts of the All Progressives Congress (APC Chairman in the State, Prince Gboyega Famodun are recognized, as well as those of the Speaker, Osun Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, all Osun lawmakers including the House Committee on Sports."

"We thank the Sports Council led by Mrs. Lola Oluokun, Osun FA chaired by Chief Rasaq Mustapha Ajiroba Ooni, Osun United Supporters Club under Alhaji Abimbola Rafiu, Osun United Fans Club led by Chief Hammed Nureni, Osun Coaches Associations, Referee Council, GFCC, Security Agencies, FUBF and the Stadium boys."

"Our working relationship with the coaching crew, backroom staff and players has been cordial and we thank them while the roles of Osun Sports Writers Association (SWAN) under Mr. Tope Alabi are highly commendable with those of the Radio and Television sports presenters and online/social media bloggers across the country who promote our activities."

"Although he is no more, his legacy is what we are building on. May God continue to bless the Former President of the Club, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi and be with his family. We similarly laud efforts of the immediate past board member of Osun United led by Engineer Jimoh Olayemi among others."

"We are like Oliver Twist, we ask for more. We count on all of you because without you, who are we.? It's your support that has been working for us and we ask for more of this, to take us to where we want."

"Osun United belongs to us all. We are there today, other will be there tomorrow. Such is life. We promise to leave a good legacy behind whenever our time is up. Our prayer is for Osun United to continue to soar higher and higher and get to play in the continent very soon."

"Finally, we pray God to reward everyone, in multiple of what he/she wants for the present management and the team," the statement concluded.
