20 Clubs To Play In The Maiden Africa Super League By Sampson Adedeji According to the reports coming from CAF headquarters in Cairo, the discussion about the inaugural edition of the African Super League is set to continue this month, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. The President of the football body South Africa's Patrice Motsepe few month back mentioned the establishment of the Super League as one of his main project. The idea of Super League first cropped up in Europe with 12 top teams trying to breakaway but it collapsed after UEFA and it's member associations frowned at the idea. And according to Motsepe, 20 African clubs will be selected from 13 countries to take part in the inaugural edition. Teams like Wydad, Raja and Berkane (Morroco), Al Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids (Egypt), Mamelodi Sundowns and Chiefs, Pirates (South Africa ), Mazembe, Vita (DR Congo), Hilal, Merrikh (Sudan), Simba (Tanzania) and Horoya (Guinea) are set to be the pioneer member. Other clubs are to be determined after conclusion of the arrangement.
