2018 NSF: Blow By Blow Account of How Festival Torch Arrived Abuja

The National Sports Festival 2018 Torch arrived Abuja on Thursday morning after going round to the 36 states of federation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Torch also known as ‘The Festival Torch’ was received by Abaji Area Council chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya at the the popular Giri junction around 11:00 am, who moved 20 meters before honourably presented the torch to his Kwali Area Council counterpart, Mr Joseph K. Shazim who patiently waited and received at the University of Abuja main gate.
Gwagwalada Area Council chairman, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze received the Festival Torch from Mr Joseph Shazim at the Kuje Junction before handing it over to Kuje Area Council chairman, Mr. Abdulrahman Galadima at Lugbe junction.
Galadima in turn handed it to Bwari Area Council chairman, Mr Musa Dikko at Chika Junction before Abuja Municipal Area Council chairman, Malam Abdullahi Candido received and gave it to FCT Director of Sports Department, Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyendinma at the Unity Gate.
Dilichukwu as well gave the torch to Social Development Secretariat Secretary, Barr. Amanda Iyabode Pam who in turn handed it to Permanent Secretary Ministry of FCT, Sir. Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa.
Chinyeaka who walked a bit handed the festival torch to Hon. Minister of FCT, Malam Musa Muhammed Bello.
The FCT minister made a 50 meters lap and hand it over to the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Barr. Solomon Dalung who gave it to the Main Organising Committee (MOC) chairman and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Sports , Adeshola Olushade.
Adeshola handed the festival torch to Abdul Yahaya, captain national 3×3 basketball team.
Sports minister announced that the opening ceremony will be held by 6:00 pm which will be declear open by the Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
In the evening, the 2018 National Sports Festival’s opening ceremony will kick off with displays and march past by all participating athletes.
The 19th National Sports Festival tagged ‘Abuja 2018’ will be held from December 6–16, in Abuja.
