Isoken Igbinosun, Weightlifters and Officials Declared Missing.. ....They will not part of Contigents Expected today in Abuja By Niyi Busari Nigeria sprinter Isoken Igbinosun, some weightlifters and official will not be part of the Nigerian contigents expected to touch down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport Abuja later today BSN Sports reports. Just few days after the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Bar. Solomon Dalung praised Nigerian athletes for displaying high level of Professionalism before during and after the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast the embarrassing moment starred us in the face. When the Nigeria contigents at the Commonwealth Games were preparing to return back to their base, the news broke that Nigeria sprinter, Isoken Igbinosun have disappeared after the Commonwealth Games. Isoken Igbinosun finished seventh in the semi finals of the 200m with a time of 24.03 at the just concluded Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. The NSCDC sprinter before the games was the fastest female athlete in the 100m clocking 11.42 seconds with a wind-aided time at the Kaduna Golden League in December 2017. Sources revealed to www.bsnsports.com.ng said the female athletes was nowhere to be found during the departure of Team Nigeria back to the country. As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Igbinosun is still unknown. Meanwhile, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria have failed to pay the home based athletes their grants, BSN Sports learnt. An impeccable source disclosed that the foreign athletes have been paid Eight thousand dollars ($8,000) while the home based athletes are counting the number of stars in the sky. The source said the athletes were told their grants were used for camping, feeding and accommodation back in Nigeria. BSN sports also been reliably informed that some athletes and coaches from the Weightlifting team have also declared missing from team Nigeria in Australia. As at the time of this report, the number and whereabout of the athletes and coaches are unknown.
