2018 ITTF Open: Quadri to Face Thailand's Supanut in Final

By Admin Aruna Quadri, qualified for the semi-finals of the men’s singles event of the 2018 ITTF Challenge Seamaster Nigeria Open, defeating Romania’s Rares Sipos 4-0, reports Quadri who is the only Nigerian player left in the tournament, outclassed Sipos 11-6,11-8,11-5,12-10 to book a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. The 27 year old Quadri will face Supanut Wisutmaythangkoon from Thailand on Sunday. Wisutmaythangkoon defeated Mondal Raj 4-3 in an intense game. If Aruna wins, he will face the winner of the game involving Gavin Rumgay and Antoine Hachard in the final also on Sunday. In the women’s singles, Funke Oshonaike and Akpan Cecelia both crashed out of the tournament in the round of 16. Oshonaike lost 4-1 (2-11,5-11,6-11,11-8,10-12) to Fan Siqi while Cecelia also succumbed to Pergel Szandra from Hungary 4-1 (4-11,7-11,11-9,10-12,4-11). Credit: Completesportsnigeria.com.
