2018 Late Alaba Yahaya Cup: State Chapter Coaches Association Emerge Champion By Admin State chapter Coaches Association won the maiden edition of 2018 Late Alaba Yahaya Cup after defeating Bwari Area Council Coaches Association 2-1 in a highly-contested final at the Area 3 Playing ground, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The third-place which was played between Kwali and Bwari Area council Coaches Associations saw Bwari defeated their opponent 2-1. The champions smiled home with cash prize of Forty Thousand naira (N40,000), giant trophy and 3 footballs, the runners-up go home with Thirty thousand naira (N30,000) with 2 footballs, while the third-place goes home with Twenty thousand naira (N20,000) and a ball. All the participating teams, as well as the match officials were issued certificates of participation as a way of appreciating their efforts. Dignitaries present at the Area 3 Play Ground for the final match are; the FCT FA chairman, Mallam Musa Talle, the children of late Alaba, Ahmed Alaba and two other siblings, a senior lecturer with National Institute for Sports, coach Lawrence Ndaks, Chief of staff to Executive chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Hon Ibrahim Tanko (who donated the cash prize to the winners), Suleiman Shuaibu goalkeeper trainer of Flying Eagles, and Coach John Ibude, (who is now suffering from diabetes as well as sight problem), also on ground was the Chairman of the LOC of the coaches cup Abimbola Samuel Olatubosun. In his remarks the FCT FA chairman applauded the Coaches Association for the innovation and idea by honouring the late chairman of the association who until his death is also a board member of FCT Football Association. An award was presented to the family of the late Alaba at the end of the match. The Chairman of the Association Godwin Bamigboye called on coaches to unite and be their brothers keepers pleaded on behalf and call for supports of coaches in the Nation's capital to rally round coach John Ibude to regain his sight. The LOC chairman also appreciated all the councils and state chapter for their contributions. Mustpha Mubdiyu donated the trophy for the the first position, while Mr Emmanuel Atta former FCT FA chairman and Super Eagles coordinator donated trophies for the second and third place along with cash prize of forty thousand naira (N40,000). Hon. Ibrahim Tanko Chief of Staff to Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) donated cash prize fir first position, second and third place respectively.
